"Blue Geep at Blue Hour"
New Jersey Transit was kind enough to return former Jersey Central GP40P #3677 repainted into it's as delivered appearance to home rails as part of the companies 40th anniversary celebrations. Now wearing road number 4109 and rebuilt to GP40PH-2 specifications the locomotive is seen crossing the Brielle Drawbridge over the Manasquan River just after sunset. The North Jersey Coast Line was originally under the joint ownership of the Jersey Central and Pennsylvania Railroads known as the New York & Long Branch. The GP40Ps, delivered in 1968 to the Jersey Central, could be found here operating trains from Bay Head to Newark Penn Station.
