Blasting eastbound through the West Virginia New River Gorge at Cotton Hill, Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society’s Nickel Plate Berkshire 2-8-4 765, is masquerading as Chesapeake & Ohio Kanawha 2765 for the October 1994 New River Trains.
The Van Swearingen Brothers standarized freight power for their railroads with nearly identical 2-8-4 Berkshires. Two of these engines are still in excursion service.
