Old meets new as modern locomotives for CSX Railroad meets a repowered American Locomotive engine at CMC Steel in Cayce, South Carolina on the former Seaboard Air Line. The unit is currently Johnson Railway Services #132, ex-Laurinburg & Southern Railroad #132. It was built in 1948 as Richmond, Fredericksburg and Potomac Railroad (RFP) #58. The CSX train is very likely the daily train from Hamlet, North Carolina. My note taking was non-existent back then. (And it still is.)
The lead locomotive is a General Electric AC4400CW while the second locomotive is CSXT SD40-2 #8812, built as Conrail (CR) #6391 in 1977. The old Seaboard Air Line signal to the right of frame has since been replaced.
