Remarks & Notes
Flash Photography! A Manhattan-bound J train is seen slamming across the diamonds at Myrtle Ave Station, where the Myrtle Avenue Line diverges from the Jamaica Line, with a bright electrical arc flashing from the kicker rail (short section of third rail within or between special work portions) to the contact shoe. Electrical arcing like this is common during snowfall and low temperatures as ice builds up on the third rail.
