The roundhouse at Cheyenne hosts coal train power of the day - C30-7s and a U30C on the side. Most coal traffic came out of the Hanna, WY basin at the time as there were several mines in the vicinity. Loaded trains cut units at Cheyenne for the downhill trip to North Platte (after a run for Archer hill) thus power accumulated here for addition to westbound empty sets. It appears a thunderstorm has just moved through town.
