| After swapping crews at the Dusty Road crossing near Democrat, mine run C842-02 passes the south end of Deane siding on CSX's E&BV Subdivision as they continue with half a train of Bluegrass loads bound for the yard at Martin. C842 is passing through the sprawling but idle Deane Mining complex, once an important loading point for both the Chesapeake & Ohio and the Louisville & Nashville Railway before the two were merged into CSX Transportation and bridged together as a second outlet for East Kentucky coal. |
