"R211s And A Charlie Too!"
The first Kawasaki built MTA New York City Transit R211A subway cars (4060-4064) and "protect train" consisting of Pullman Standard R46 series cars (signed up as a "C" train) sit side by side on the platform at Astoria-Ditmars Blvd while performing clearance testing on the BMT Astoria Line during the early morning hours of September 28th, 2021.
With the introduction of this new model of subway railcar, several tests must be performed before the rest of the huge order is built. One of these tests includes clearance testing, which involves running the new train through most of the system to ensure it meets all clearance restrictions.
