The electric locomotive Ge 4/4 # 81 (1000 V DC) of the Blonay-Chamby Railroad Museum was built in 1916 by SLM Winterthur and BBC in Münchenstein as Ge 6/6 # 81 for the Bernina Railway. In 1929, it was rebuilt to a fouraxle Ge 4/4 by SLM because it had not proven itself as a six-axle locomotive. In 1964 it was discarded by the RhB and parked, in 1970 it came to the Blonay-Chamby museum railroad, where it was beautifully refurbished. Between the two bogies, a magnetic rail brake is installed in a frame that runs on small wheels. Today, the locomotive, lettered "BB 81" (Bernina Bahn # 81) was transported from Vevey to Landquart on a road low loader of the Emil Egger company and can be seen here at the traffic circle of the highway exit in Landquart. The locomotive will remain with the Rhaetian Railway (Bernina line) for about a year and will pull extra trains there. This is a return visit to the guest appearance of Ge 4/4 # 182 ("Bernina Krokodil") at the Blonay-Chamby in 2018, and to celebrate 25 years of association "Club 1889".
