The every-day-but-Sunday Roanoke turn is back in Opelika with a substantial train. The train used a couple miles of the Western Railway of Alabama's main to get to Roanoke Junction, where their own line resumed. If I recall correctly, Southern considered the train in the photo an eastbound, while WofA considered it to be westbound. So, this train was #30 while on Southern, but #7 while on WofA. The opposite pair was 31/8.
