Amtrak at 50: ACS-64 #603 is seen leading the Vermonter, train #54, in the vicinity of Edison Station on Amtrak's 50th anniversary. The worker seen to the left was present as a safety measure due to track work just east of the station.
The successor to the Montrealer, the Vermonter runs between St. Albans, Vt., and Washington, DC. Much of the northern part of the route runs along the Connecticut and White Rivers.
