| The shadows grow long as Piney Creek Shifters H826 and H827 make their switchback move at Raleigh Yard with their train of 80 loads from Beckley Pocahontas’ Eccles batch loadout. A pusher is neccesary on this steep and windy C&O territory.
Since the removal of the wye at Raleigh, mine runs working the Piney Creek use the RSW&WG for headroom; seen here. Due to the tight curves, steerable trucks are required on the Raleigh Southwestern & Winding Gulf beyond the yard limits. |
