As Southern Pacific's Huntington Beach Hauler was heading west (compass north) on the Stanton Branch back to Anaheim, at just 25 miles per hour, a moron in a white car (visible just beyond the crew standing at the grade crossing in the distance) somehow failed to notice the flashing red lights on the crossbucks and the large GP9 approaching the grade crossing. So, thanks to this idiot, Chapman Avenue was closed way longer than it would have been if they hadn't interfered with its journey. SP GP9 3428 was built in April 1956 as SP 5678, renumbered in 1965 to SP 3511, and rebuilt into a GP9E (as SP 3428) in March 1976. (Stanton, California - September 1992).
