The blackened cliff sides, from a big summer grass fire around the eastern end of the Caliente Canyon, are contrasted nicely by the changing colors of the fall season, along the Caliente Creek bed. Slowly chugging it’s way up and out of the canyon is a south bound BNSF stack train, hot on the heels of a UP manifest climbing it’s way up to tunnel 2 only a few miles ahead.
