Marfa, Texas, the Capital of Quirkiness.
The Amtrak Sunset Limited (Train 1) passes the former Godbold Feed & Supply Warehouse in Marfa, Texas on Sunday, July 19, 2020 with Webb Rail's former Northern Pacific Railway Budd built Pullman dome/sleeper 313 (WEBX 801044) and former New York Central Railroad Budd built Pullman obs/diner/sleeper "Babbling Brook" (WEBX 800007) holding the markers. Marfa is an interesting place, with an early history centering around railroading and the military, and a modern history of housing creative arts. The Godbold building was once the US Army Quartermaster Warehouse before becoming by the feed business, then became a working space for artist Donald Judd, and was recently purchased by the Marfa Distilling Company. The caption title is from Morley Safer's "60 Minutes" segment in 2013, covering the history and current events of this city that the 2010 census states has a population of 1,981 people.
