Remarks & Notes |
SCREAMER! Shannon Hill is a steep 3-5% grade in Arizona's Copper Country. Each Geep is good for approximately 550-580 tons on what is undoubtably the steepest climb in North America. Heavy trains of acid and sulfur are lifted up to the massive Freeport McMoran copper producing complex at Morenci, AZ. This heavy train made up of mostly acid tank cars and a couple empty boxcars for copper cathodes SCREAMS against gravity as it moves up one of the steepest sections of the climb! |
