A local commuter in his Cadillac pauses at the Verdant View Farm crossing as Strasburg Rail Road decapod #90 speeds by on the morning of October 18, 2020. Built in 1924 for the Great Western Railroad by the Baldwin Locomotive Works, #90 was purchased in 1967 by the SRC for a total of $23,000 which adjusted for inflation equates to $173,234.79 today or about the price of a top-of-the-line Mercedes Coupe. This photo was taken as part of the SRC's 60th anniversary celebration in which #90 was backdated to its 1960s retro livery.
