Remarks & Notes |
The diesel locomotive type MaK 400 BB Gm 4/4 # 241 of the RhB (right) had been in service for decades in the shunting service of Untervaz-Trimmis station, which is very important for freight traffic. It had been built in 1959 by MaK in Kiel/Germany for the Alsen'schen Portland-Cementwerke in Lägerdorf and had a gauge of 860 mm at that time. In 1989, it came to the Rhaetian Railway in connection with the construction of the Vereina Tunnel. Since then it has been rebuilt several times and adapted to the needs of the RhB. The 36 ton diesel-hydraulic locomotive has two 136 kW Cummins engines. But now the locomotive is only in reserve. The new hybrid locomotive Geaf 2/2 # 20601 (left) from StadlerRail with 500 kW when supplied from the overhead line or 200 kW with the battery drive is in test operation. It is not yet decided what will happen to the Gm 4/4 # 241.
