Remarks & Notes
Morning Tunder Storms are already building over the Southern Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. Afternoon Storms will bring heavy rain to the refion. The sun is still shine however as the westbound SLRG train lifts 18 empty hoppers heads up the 3% grade above Occidental. The DRGW rated any given locomotive for less tonnage here than on Tennessee Pass. The Spring Creek fire of 2018 destroyed 108000 acres and was the third largest fire in Colorado history. The forest is already beginning to re-bound with fresh green slopes.

A compilation of DRGW's La Veta Pass route to the San Luis Valley now operated by the SLRG. With Rio Grande Scenic passenger operations coming to a close in 2019, the Alamosa sub is once again freight-only, as reflected here.
