Remarks & Notes |
By late 1970 things were pretty quite around the Minneapolis BN station. Only a handful of passenger trains made it to BN from its predecessors. I was wandering around the platform when all of a sudden out of nowhere a pair of SD45s showed up. One was in GN paint, the other BN green. Apparently they had diverted off the mainline which ran perpendicular to the platform tracks. They headed through the depot and crossed the Mississippi River on the Stone Arch Bridge apparently headed back toward southeast Minneapolis. Never found out why. |
