Just after 6 AM, NJT 8404 arrives at Berkeley Heights Train Station from Gladstone Yard to pick up passengers with New Jersey Transit's Pennsylvania Heritage Unit. In a pre-COVID-19 world, the platform would ordinarily be packed for both Gladstone MidTOWN Direct Trains at Berkeley Heights. Today, a lone passenger (not pictured) waits to board. After this run, the consist would spend the day at Sunnyside Yard in Queens, NY (going around the loop) and engine NJT 4636 would lead train NJT 8431 later this day back to Gladstone. NJT 6074 (Comet V Cab Car) is on the rear. During the COVID-19 Pandemic, NJT modified schedules across the system. The 2 morning New York eastbound expresses and 2 afternoon New York to Gladstone westbound expresses became local trains and had their train numbers modified from being in the 6400 series to being in the 8400 series.
