A westbound moves onto single track at the west end of Kennard, NE, between Blair and Fremont. This former C&NW line was a single track bypass around Council Bluffs/Omaha and following the mid-90s merger UP began adding a second main with hopes of avoiding slow running through the terminal area. Kennard is as far as the project got, because business slumped and the route has gotten awfully quiet these days.
