| 1997 was an exciting year to be trackside along the Wisconsin Central. In addition to their own rolling museum of EMD power, frequent visitors from other railroads would show up. Here at North Fond du Lac a BNSF pair of SD40-2s are being set up for a freight. BN 6844 shows off the white face scheme nicely, while the "Santa Fe" unit is really an MKM leaser (to BNSF) at this point. A nice looking pair regardless. WC itself acquired numerous former BN and ATSF SD45s to build their roster, so the colors were not that uncommon here. |
