| The Intercity tilting train ICN RABDe 500 # 028 "Francesco Borromini" of the SBB is rounding the curve between Kemptthal and Effretikon at 115 km/h. On the section Winterthur to Zürich, there are no higher speeds allowed for tilting trains because of the very dense traffic, here a train every 3 minutes average. The maximum line permeability is achieved with trains travelling at the same speed. For example on the section between St.Gallen and Winterthur, a curve with the same radius this train would go through it at 140 kilometers an hour. The ICN is running on the line IC 5 as train IC 1522 from St.Gallen via Winterthur-Zürich-Olten-Biel-Neuchâtel to Lausanne. |
