| NS 33K was a train that had been around for about 2 decades. Its size was variable. Sometimes the train would be huge and other times it had no cars at all. The train was abolished by Norfolk Southern in late 2019. When working Manville Yard, 33K would often park much of its train on the Conrail Lehigh Line. In this photo, 33K received permission to bring its entire train into the yard being a manageable length on this frigid afternoon. The conductor can be seen in the distance guiding the engineer in the yard work. NS 9947 (also a C44-9W) is the second unit. |
