Remarks & Notes

Central Kansas Railway was a company that operated former Santa Fe branch lines in Western Kansas. Through a series of consolidations and sales the lines once operated by the railroad are now operated by the Kansas and Oklahoma Railroad. CKR 101 still earns it's keep switching grain hoppers at the elevators of Scott City. The vintage SW8 began life in 1952 as Rock Island (CRIP) 835.
