“End of the Line.”
It’s 1959 and the J class has been demoted from fast passenger trains to local pickups along the Norfolk and Western. In service for less than a decade, NW 611 spends her twilight in the countryside. Of course this photo wasn’t taken in the 50s and fortunately 611 would be saved from the scrap heap to help recreate this scene today. Not even heavy showers could dampen the beauty of the Queen of Steam.
For the train and storm chaser. Trains with thunderstorms, dark clouds, rain, lightning, hurricanes - tropical storms, funnel clouds, storm light, rainbows, and snow storms.
