July 4th marked what could well be the final trek of Canadian Pacific SD40-2s on the Vermont Rail System trackage. Each year multiple CP ballast trains are loaded by Barrett's in Burlington, Vermont and the CP power typically accompanies the train as a solid set to Burlington from Whitehall, NY. After the power was run around and some freight cars swapped out at Center Rutland, the train continued on to Whitehall, NY with the trio of GMTX GP38-2s leading the CP power.
