In the 1960's and 1970's CP had a chronic power shortage despite the arrival of many second generation units. At the same time the Quebec North Shore and Labrador Railway was selling off GP9's that were replaced by SD40's and SD40-2's. PNC picked up many of the Geeps amd in turn leased them to the CPR. Here, PNC 150 is at the sand towers at CPR's main Toronto yard along with an RS-3, RS-10, C-424 and RS-18.
