Home....Simply put 'Big Boy' 4014 was home on Saturday May 4th, 2019 as it returned to Sherman Hill under steam for the first time in 60 years. Big Boys were a fixture on Union Pacific's Overland Route between Ogden, UT and Cheyenne, WY starting in 1941 when the first group, including 4014, was delivered. In the later years leading up to 1959 when the 'last of the giants' ran under steam it was Sherman Hill, between Cheyenne and Laramie, which kept the Big Boys employed. Having just come over the summit Big Boy 4014 and FEF-3 844 are surrounded by the granite faces of Wyoming's Sherman Hill just after emerging from Hermosa Tunnels on main one. Welcome home, 4014!
