Brake shoes smoking in the late evening light, LS&I 2300 leads a colorful consist into the ore yard at the dock in Marquette in June of 1988. U23C's were fairly rare here, with only 53 being produced for US roads. The majority (170) went to Brazil. 2300 ended up at the Arkansas RR Museum.
