| AMTK 46 catches the last rays of sunlight as its beaten cowl represents many of its sisters out roaming Amtrak system this spring day. Scratches and dents, rust and primer-painted snow plows are just some of the traits this battled hardened P42 wears that many others do as well. Standing in the background behind the veteran P42 is the ex-ATSF cantilever signal bridge. Although its head has been turned, the sturdy structure continues to represent what operations were like at Redondo Junction before the completion of the Redondo Flyover. |
