This eastbound coal train bound for Kingsport has just worked hard between MP 28.3 and MP 32.4 to get up the 1.50% on the NS Appalachia District. 2 SD70ACE's have been on the rear end of this train since they left Loyal, KY, to help out on all the different heavy grades this train has climbed to get this far. Now the journey ends here at Watkins for the helpers. The train will stop, the helpers will cut off, and head back to Loyal for an afternoon shove. The CSX uses 43 miles of NS trackage from Big Stone Gap to Frisco to get from the CV Sub to the Kingsport Sub.
