| An early morning westbound Amtrak Regional sprints through Linden, NJ on the inside express track. The mighty Pennsylvania Railroad laid six tracks along this portion of the Northeast Corridor with the intention of creating a two track freight bypass. The bypass continues to the next station south in Rahway. Ultimately, the pre-war plan never came to fruition and today the tracks are used almost exclusively by New Jersey Transit. |
