On a crisp winter morning along Donner Pass, SPMW 4032 leads a single spreader set west at Emigrant Gap, California. In the days prior, the mountains of Northern California were battered by several cold, fast-moving storms. Overnight, the latest storm moved quickly to the east, creating one of those perfectly clear mornings along the Donner Pass Route.
California has some of the best mountain scenes in America. The photos in this album will include images from Donner Pass and the Feather River Canyon, which will show how Union Pacific really is the “Pride of the Sierras”.
