The long train of Wyoming soda ash is climbing around the Durkee Loop. The loop is located on east slope of Encina Hill and is at the beginning of the 2.2% grade portion of the Hill. Eight big AC motors are required to lift this train over this formidable obstacle.... The train is powered up 2x5x1, and the swing help can be seen passing thru the curve on the right of the picture...... Also note the almost full moon....
