Daybreak in the Hudson River valley finds one of Amtrak's "training trains" heading south on Metro-North's Hudson line to New York City's Grand Central Terminal. These training runs operated this past spring to prepare crews for a summer of operating Empire Service trains in and out of Grand Central, while the Spuyten Duyvil bridge is out of service for repairs. MARC cab car 7745 is leading Amtrak P32AC-DM 716, followed by a food service car and MARC cab car 7755.
Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
