| The two "Giruno" highspeed trains RABe 501 # 001 and # 004 from Stadler Rail for the SBB are rushing at 200 km/h (150 mph) out of the south portal of the 57 kilometer Gotthard Base Tunnel (GBT) near Pollegio in the Ticino. The train is on a pantograph test run from Flüelen to Claro. From the end of next year, this will be a common sight, when this 250 km/h trains will take over the traffic between Zürich and Milan. |
