| This photo is from a postcard size glass negative by the late John Macartney Robbins who died in 1953. It shows Stephenson Locomotive Society members standing in front of an Etat (former Ouest) railway 4-4-0 during a their visit to Sotteville depot in 1910. The engine is one of batch of 60 built by French builders in 1888-97 and by its looks were based on a series of 4-4-0s built in Glasgow, Scotland by Sharp, Stewart & Co and Neilson & Co in 1880-85. |
