Amtrak's North Coast Hiawatha has just left the former GN station in Minneapolis for its trip to Chicago. This first 100 plus miles are along the Mississippi River, starting here with a crossing of the James J. Hill Stone Arch Bridge in downtown Minneapolis. The train will enter Milwaukee Road trackage in St. Paul for the trip to La Crosse, Milwaukee and Chicago.
