Hearing the sound of a wide open GP38 is a personal favorite of mine, so it was an automatic that I'd follow Central Maine & Quebec's Searsport job on it's return North July 16, 2017. With it's healthy Nathan K3 echoing off the nearby valley of Marsh Stream, I took full advantage of my front yard to listen as #211 first hit Old Stage Road then my "home" crossing of West Hill. GP38-3 #3812 rolled out into the later afternoon sun in it's attractive CMQ colors as thunderstorms were encroaching from nearly every direction. It's been a rather cool Summer in Northern New England this year, but this day looked and felt just like it should while living trackside!
