U48's motive power has just cleared the north wye switch at Kent Junction and serves as a pusher to shove empties along the ex-Interstate Railroad's Pardee Branch to Cumberland River Coal's loader at Pardee (Whitfield); a pusher crew leads the empties up the branch. Upon arrival at the loader, U48's crew, engineer Danny Fisher and conductor Dennis Ashley, will begin loading.
