Engineer David Hylton, along with conductor John Parsons and brakeman Dennis Barnette, eases NS U49 to a stop at Kent Junction (Pardee Branch) as he awaits orders to proceed onto the ex-Interstate Railroad's Appalachia-Norton main and continue to Norton. U49 will deliver 35 loads pulled from Cane Patch to the ex-N&W's Norton Yard; U49 left 9 "no bills" at Cane Patch.
