Remarks & Notes

The New Haven RR had less than six hours left in its corporate existence when Springfield-New York train 83 paused in the railroad's headquarters city on New Year's Eve 1968. A pair of FL9s headed up a short consist that included a working RPO. Come midnight, Penn Central will be in charge.
