This freight depot looks like it's in really good shape, at least on the outside, considering it sits alone, desolate, between downtown Galveston and the cruise ship docks. My brief research indicates this was primarily the freight house for the Galveston, Houston & Henderson Railroad (GH&H), which dates back to 1853 ... it was apparently sold out its second receivership, in 1882, to Jay Gould-controlled M,K&T. It looks like the freight depot was used by the International & Great Northern (Texas' Missouri Pacific subsidiary) as well. I can find very little information on this particular depot. However, I'm glad it's been preserved thus far.
