Happy 30th Anniversary P&L!!! August 27, 1986 - August 27, 2016. Paducah & Louisville Railway began operations 30 years ago today as a spinoff from the shrinking Illinois Central Gulf system of the mid 80s. This shot from May 2014 is the P&L as I like to think of it: a pile of 4-axles and coal hoppers! Here we find a great example of the road's traditions as the Mill Creek empties crest Black Rock behind three mother/slugs and a GP40-2.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
