Remarks & Notes |
Having conquered the daunting Tehachapi range a trio of (then) new General Electric ET45AHs are running point on a train of Pacific Northwest lumber which is now on the 1.3% down grade run to Rosamond having left Ansel on Union Pacific's Mojave Subdivision. For the next several miles the lumber laden manifest will coast downgrade to Oban, the railroad's lowest point in the High Desert, from there the horses will go back to work to lift the train across the desert and up to Hiland at the top of Cajon Pass. |
