| SP8186 was part of a quartet that likely came off a taconite train, as there was a ore train leaving the yard with three new AC4400s. The AC traction engines were just being delivered and the -9s were still in Colorado/Utah service for about another month. Belt Railway of Chicago acted as Southern Pacific's classification yard and agent for Chicago. The yard became a flood of Southern Pacific equipment. |
