Fresh from rebuild at Norfolk Southern’s Juniata Locomotive Shops, SD70ACU no. 7250 sounded good dragging Catawba empty 741 up Markham Holler in Banner, Va on the Clinch Valley District. Built as UP SD9043MAC no. 8021 in Feb 96’, these massive locomotives were the highest horsepower engines ever produced by EMD. NS sold this one to progress rail in Feb 21’, not even 6 years after overhaul…
