Remarks & Notes
The Great Trans-Iranian Railway

On the northern part of the Trans-Iranian, the Veresk Bridge is probably the most famous bridge of Iran. Built in 1936 by Austrian engineer Walter Inger, it is located in the Elburz Mountains range on a section north of Tehran where the line climbs southward from the Caspian Sea to a summit tunnel at Gaduk (2220 m / 7280 ft asl) with a ruling grade of 1 in 35 (2.86%) displaying many extraordinary engineering works, loops, circular tunnels, and photo locations. The bridge is 360 ft / 110 m high and has a 216 ft / 66 m span.
