Some fresh paint at the dawning of a new day. The first two of this class to be put into the PRASA "blue" livery. E1603 (with E1667 behind) are Class 6E1 Series 5 electric locomotives, that originally entered service in 1976, with what was then the South African Railways. Now falling under the PRASA (Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa) umbrella, they (along with four others of their type) have been in Durban at Transnet Engineering undergoing refurbishing and a repaint into the PRASA "blue" livery. It is believed that E1667 and E1603 (along with the other four) will be heading off to work in the Western Cape. Well done Transnet Engineering in Durban, as usual, beautiful work!
